... it's alive! it's alllliiiiiiiiiivvvveeee!
(omg, would you look at that adorable lil' scooper spoon? i think i just died a little inside)
... well okay, it's not alive yet. in fact, they're not alive yet. all right, all right, the lil' bastards haven't even been dumped out of their pouch yet into the water.
what am i talking about? none other than my new pet. that's right boys and girls, i've entered into the amazing and astounding world of SEA MONKEYS! thanks to the inspiration of Lanio, who gave a dizzingly marvelous speech at our toastmasters club just.. last ... night about the amazing calming effect and joy of these brine shrimp, i mean SEA MONKEYS, i've joined the proud ranks of the "just add water," family of lil' monkey owners! (actually, her speech was a damned riot because she shared why sea monkeys were perfect for those types of folks who wanted pets, but mayyyy not quite be the most responsible types. only needing food every few days takes the edge off the 'ol responsibilities list, eh?)
so, here's the deal: water is in, purifying treatment is in... now i wait 24 hours until i can put the eggs in. that's right kids, notice the picture above: package #2 are the EGGS. these lil' dudes live in a cryogenic stasis when water is removed from their environment! freaky. once i add the eggs tomorrow, they should hatch within hours, and be big enough to see by friday!
this is sweet. i can't wait to welcome hundreds of scurrying little boys and girl sea monkeys into the world. daddy is so oroud.. sniff... okay, i need a moment. *sniff*
i've asked lanio to post a pic and status check on her lil' monkeys, since they traveled to and from the toastmasters meeting and all... lil' buggers got shook up! so, stay tuned for more pics, fun and frivalty as i share with you my new babies.

Sweet!
All right, before you start getting on my case about it, I posted about my own Sea Monkeys at my decluttering journal.
:)
you're a wackadoodle! :) can't wait to see them?
Okay, and I thought having a betta named Dude in a 2.5 gallon tank at work was odd. Yes, that's what I have. LOL
Should be interesting to see what "develops".
