... what's that smell?

.... coming from the dining room? a finely prepared dinner? no! it's paint fumes! Wheeeeee! although it may not look like the wifee and i have done much since the last posting, phase 1 is almost done! The huge gaping hole in the wall is patched, sealed and ready to be spackled & painted, and as you can see, the majority of the painting has been done on the walls! touch ups are done. Trim needs to be looked at tomorrow, and the now ex-hole will be attended to!

as early as tomorrow evening we may be able to start putting in the flooring! eep! we're both very excited! frankly, i'm also excited to get feedback from anyone reading this as to your thoughts on the project once you start to see it really coming together. i'll take some snap shots of the tiles we've picked for the kitchen backsplash and sorts so you can get a good idea of how it's all going to look.

Quickie shot above just shows the color i added this evening. the colors in the kitchen will be a continuation of the golden yellow tone which will meet a mediterrainian brick red. (ooooh, ahhhhh) keep in mind that the fireplace will be tiled, a new hearth built, (can't wait to retile that gawd-awful dirty looking thing) a large mirror will likely hang over the fireplace to create illusion of space, and much much more!

sooooooo, whaddya think? huh huh huh huh huh? :)

i loves me those colors! what are the other walls going to be? the green or the gold? and speaking of the gold, what paint and color is that? that is the color we were attempting to go with in our hall but ended up going with a plain beige color (our living room is cranberry zing and our kitchen is burnt sienna...both coming off the hallway). i can't wait to see more more more!!!

(my word today: tuudz)

Looks beautimous! You guys are doing great work. If this was my house, we'd have torn up everything and then given up. Remember, it took us six months to paint our living room... Anyway, it's lookin' good!

Thanks you two! Your comments and support are appreciated! yer both sooo getting dinner invites once it's all done!

Shannon - Brand is Olympic, I'll email ya' the color names or #'s in case you're THAT curious.

Lanio - my frustration is that nothing feels "done" at all yet because we've not started the actual flooring yet! I CAN tell you tho, even though it took 6 months, yer living room looks beautimous!
