... ewww, it's a floater

.... thank goodness for high salt water content to keep my booty afloat! do I EVER love snorkeling! i could do it all day, i have done it all day! 3 cheers for finers that look like raisinets! omg omg omg! by monday bright-spanky early i'll be flying to hawaii to be with my dear mother on vacation!

not only do i soooo need this break, but i cannot wait to spend time with jes' ma' mum. we haven't gone on a trip together for... well... EVER ah think. (shit, gonna get in trouble for that one)

throughout her life, mom's received many back surgeries to fix a potentially non-fixable degenerative spinal issue. All the ligaments and stretchy goodness doesn't last back there (no pun intended) and as she grows into her "wise years," she's having more and more issues. Most recently, she's had 2 surgeries over the past 5 years to essentially install a "roll cage" of sorts (titanium is cool) in her upper and lower spine to FUZE the vertabrae together. this alleviates pressure and seems to be a temporary fix for a bigger issue.

shit. it's 2006. why the hell can't i grow my mother a new spine!? this sucks. BUT, she's given me the greatest gift of all: (besides the whole "oooh, birth" thing) TIME with her... alone... on an island of immense beauty and wonderfulness.

i can't wait to be with her. i can't wait to enjoy talking to her. i can't wait to experience fishees, turtles, eagle rays, and maybe some dolphins if we're lucky! who knows! who cares... i'll be with my mom!

so, to all you beloved bloggervillians, no posts next week... i'll be drinking mai-tais in your honor.. but do drop me a note. I'd love to hear from ya'all... you know.. WHEN I'M IN FRIGGIN HAWAII!!!! BWA HHAHAHAHAAAAA.....

You are one lucky dude! It is fantastic to be able to look forward to spending time with your mother. She has got to be one special woman to have set you on the proper path through life.

Enjoy Hawaii. I celebrated my 12th birthday on the island of Oahu. My dad was stationed at Schofield Barracks at the time.

Enjoy a mai tai for me. Hell, make it two or three. Just don't get too shit-faced. Mum wouldn't appreciate it. I hope the weather will be therapeutic for her.

(I wrote a reply to your comment at the stumbled across blog.)

Enjoy life!
