... lights, camera...
.. action? thought i'd take a few minutes during ma' lunch break to post a few pics from my amazing journey in the Kona, Hawaii area with my dear mother. as expected, we had an incredible time experiencing nature, fun shopping, snorkling and sooo much more. enjoy the pics.
Yesh, we went on a Whale watch, expected to get skunked, but my gosh, did a momma humpback whale and her 4 month old calf put on a SHOW. we were soooo lucky to see full leaps out of the water and much more.

this green sea turtle was jes' sunnin' his proverbial buns. i was literally 2 feet away from him. such amazing creatures. so casual, so peaceful and well... covered in algae luvin' flies. (ewww)
omgoodness... geckoey goodness everywhere! these lil' buggers where everywhere! alll over the condo complex, hangin' with us during our mornin' breffas' on the deck, and one even got into the condo! didjoo know that if these critters match their surroundings? i had no idea this version could turn PINKISH BEIGE on the inside walls where he hid for 2 days! mother noticed it on the wall in her room! amazing!... and damned fast i might add.

I just hope I'm as lucky as you were when Mom and I go in June. I know we'll miss the whales, but I'll take everything else you saw. How lucky, and neat to have the major WOW factor.
Ahh these are the kind of Pics I like. Lovely stuff.
So is it true? "The bluest skies you've ever seen's in Seattle. "
Alison - good to hear from you!
I hafta admit, considering you can be standing in the middle of a field, be surrounded by blue sky, AND still get rained on... yesh!
there's nothing like the big blue when it decides to show itself to us Pacific Northwesterners.
Thanks for the kudos on the pics. I'll post some cool underwater shots soon that the digital was able to get me. will NEVER snorkel without a waterproof Digital Camera again... between video and snapshot freedom, then instant previews it was a hoot!

I can't wait to go in November! I'm planning on sipping Mai Tais and not having a care in the world. Oh, we might hike I suppose (although it won't be near as fun as when we take Josie out here...she's the reason I love to hike so much, watching her joy).
oh, and i like your new profile photo! very cute!!! :)
Fantastic photos.
