... bikers in heaven
... have i ever told you how much i hate motorcycles? well, jes' got word that my very first girlfriend from my childhood was killed this last month (first weekend in july, i believe) in a motorcycle accident. i don't know the details, and frankly don't wanna. i jes know that my friend of the good 'ol days, Jennifer Gitchell passed away and the world is a little darker because if it.
she was a sweet gal, a dear heart and a beautiful person. i didn't keep in touch with her much at all throughout the years, but i do remember her smile and gleefull expression during my 10 year reunion (yesh, that too was years back) when i walked in the door and was hugged (mugged?) outta the blue by her. those memories we shared alone kept the bond strong like those 10 years never passed at all.
growing old can really suck. especially when you beat some of those folks you know and love in the race. i guess those of you religious folks may think that she beat us to the finish line, but i prefer to think it's the race that counts.
love ya, jennifer. hope there's helmets in heaven for ya with wings.

Sorry to hear about your loss of such a good friend. It is good to know that you cared enough to feel the loss.
Perhaps this Teachings of Michael site might bring you some solace. It has helped me get a better handle on the whole scheme of things.
You are a kind and caring soul. I am fortunate, along with the rest of the world, knowing that there are folks like you around. I only wish more of them could have you cross their path. It would be their gain.
Hugged? Mugged? Memories! Ah, a great friendship.
BTW, growing old is only adding numbers. It will suck when you let it. The loss of a cherished friend, now that is what sucks.

Amen, Dad...
Bronx, I'm really sorry for the loss of your friend, especially over such tragic circumstances. It's never easy to lose a loved one but we do have the happy memories to reflect on... It was her time. My cousin's girlfriend was killed in a motorcycle accident a couple years ago. He lived but she didn't unfortunately. Of course they were not wearing helmets either. Michigan has very strict helmet laws thankfully... They're trying to get it changed but I think they're in place for a reason. Yes, it may be more comfortable to ride w/o one but it's definately not safer and I don't think people think about that...
Happy memories Bronx.
