... it's my first time

... so be gentle, please. oh silly people. what were you thinking? first post of 2007 baby! are you moved yet? are you emotionally charged? um... is anyone out there?

i talked to a friend of mine the other day who said one simple comment that really got me thinking. we discussed all the sh*tty things he had been through, all the adversity he had overcome and yet he was still able to maintain a positive and genuine outlook on his future. his statement was an easy one: "at least i'm still smiling. in a sea of frowns, i'm still afloat."

this was cooh. yup. that about wrapped up my feelings on his words. it was jes' cooh. people get so wrapped up in all their problems, issues and understandably so their pains; but we forget so easily how much worse things can be. so with the average person in america creating and failing their new year's resolutions within 30 days after pledging, my pledge will remain simple and hopefully achieveable:

i will continue to make people smile. i will continue to try to be good to everyone in my life that i love dearly, (and even those who continue to chafe) and will continue to take my own failings and issues in stride. in short, to keep on smiling.

hope you're all well. thanks for making my life a better place to exist in.

that picture kind of makes me sad. there are so many unhappy heads! maybe if you turned them upside down, you could have one smiley head and 86 concerned eyeballs.

my dating blog is here:
http://liberatede.blogspot.com

i don't give it out much because i used to go into way too much detail about the guys i dated. :)

crystal... so sorry it made you sad. if you knew me well enough (and maybe you do) you would know that it's a good pic, given that i'm the one frowning normally TOO much.

thanks for the link, and thanks for stopping by...

The feeling is mutual. You make our lives better for your contribution.

I think I tried to make a comment earlier.

At any rate, a positive attitude is always helpful.

Yes, there is a smiley face in the pic. How did that happen? Call out the guard. An infiltrator slipped through security. Fire the captain of the guard. But first make him watch 3 stooges videos. Yesh.

I guess I can always use white out on my screen to hide the smiley face. snerx.

b,

you are wise to choose a new year's resolution that is easily obtainable:

you do make people smile, you do treat everyone (well almost everyone) with kindness and respect, and most of all, you make a place that could very easily be miserable, enjoyable and at the least, BEARABLE. just work on the last one ;) ... when you smile, the rest of us feel so much of that sunshine!

to a new year of good friends, kind hearts, and new beginnings!

As long as you can still laugh, you'll be okay... :)
