... took the leap
... and may have jes' landed on ma' schnoozle. yesh everyone, this weekend i took the leap and joined the ranks of "those who have ascended" into new-blogspot-goodness. i'm not quite feeling the magic so far, but overall it's been fairly painless. okay, well sorta.
like happy cat, (pictured above) who also needs your help, there are some pains that i must learn to overcome with out joyous new interface called blogspot:
- NB (new blogspot) killed my counter. i admit, it was cooh to be over 7k. now i'm somewhere around the low 40's.... meh.
- NB killed my banners on my other sites. I'd like to add one to this site too, and my original technique as of yet hasn't worked to modify the HTML. if anyone knows how, please leave a comment for me?
- NB killed the majority of my hyperlinks throughout my blog. I spent over 3 hours combing through many of the archives in order to re-establish order to my universe. anyone perusing my archives can thank Starbuck's triple shot-o-mochaeey-goodness for that painful experience.
- NB's stoopid "flag blog" option on the Blogspot top bar is too close to the "next blog" option... i've already found myself unintentionally flagging other people's blogs as "unsafe for children! run for the hills!" instead of randomly checking out other blogs out there... hrumpf!
anyhoo... hope you all like the subtle improvements on the site. i do like the new option to make my archives a dropdown menu, i like some of the teensy abilities to tweak all colors, fonts, etc... and while some people may not like my BIG OL' MUG up on the site; for once, i think a random shot of me by a coworker came out fun and cooh... so, um... bite me. (giggle)

Sorry to learn of your upgrade difficulties.
I do like what I see so far. I may have to do some experimenting to see what I can do.
When I changed from the old to the new, I just opened a new blog, but then you knew that already.
I like your shot of the week. From the title, I suspect you will change the photo from time to time. How did you do that? I think I know and will try something very soon. You will know if I am successful.
I also wonder how you put the captions on the photos like the Happy Cat from pet semetary. giggle.
