... if you build it

... well, it'll get built. right? this is the result of about 8 hours of work today.
it was a tough day. over 1060lbs of slate, 15 bags of peat rock, a little swearing, a fair amount of arguing, but a whole lotta coolness now that we're getting there!
a ton of water to avoid dehydration, some maddie-stick-throws and we soon determined that we are indeed needing about another ton of slate, and prolly another 20 bags of the peat rock/gravel.

this is simply a side shot to show you some more details. the circle patio/BBQ pit space is only about 8ft round currently. it will be completed at about 10-12ft in diameter. plus we need to rebuild and space out the rest of the slate around the koi pond. it's increased size strained the amount of slate we already had! now that larger pieces have been introduced, we want to work some of those into the 'rim o the pond' to break up the space a bit!

wifee and i are totally thrilled to have seen close to a half dozen huge dragonflies magicall appear since we expanded the pond. it's amazing. they're acrobatic graceful and HOLY-QUICK as they shoot across my yard scooping up lil' buggies and roosting on exposed branches to chow 'em down! go guys! there's these amazing fire-tipped dragons, and some mean looking black ones with 2 white strips down each wing... sooo cooh!

okay okay okay... so looky at the top of this pic. do you see some little froggy paws? and a little schmoozle? eeep! my lil' frogger babers are growin' up sooo fast! *sniff* i'm so proud... hold on... i needa moment... *snerk* omg omg they are so cute too. can't wait till they get all grown up and start asking for the car keys n stuff... i'll jes look at them with my bestest stern look and say "go back to your pond!" ... snicker...

more pics later as we progress. we're quite happy so far tho! must go lay down tho. spine may actually be jello after the day's lifting and lugging....

looks great! when you are done up there, we have a patio we are wanting to get taken care of this summer. :) i wish i had normal weekends off so we could go places every so often...looking into a schedule change (perhaps giving me saturday after 2 off so trips to the seattle area might be an option).
