... pardon me, would you happen to have

any BLING you can share with us!? this is a shot of my best-ist toastmaster friend, L who just thiiiis weekend, was presented with a "Sparkplug Award," for her participation in not only supporting her home club as an officer where she and i are members, but also in starting a new club (& serving as President) at her office, Getty Images, in the Fremont/Seattle area! Only 10 of these awards are handed out and the nominations are tough considering there's a potential of 2600+- folks that could be hoping to be nominated!

her new venture, 1000 Words Club, is amazing with it's growing list of members. their incredible enthusiasm, participation and professionalism will surely make their chartering goal of 20 members a given in no time! they're so close even right now with 12 members after less than 3 months of weekly meetings!

L & i (ha ha, that sounds funny... did I jes get hurt at work?) feel that her award is attributed to all of their effort too! i'm so proud to be an unoffical mentor while they work toward their goals. I have been absolutely amazed at the quality of speeches and roles the current clubbers have shown. I've been a toastmaster for over 10 years now, i've started clubs, i've been a member of many... these folks have what it takes!

let's face it, everyone rocks the cas bah... i'm luckier than hell to know L , and to be along for the ride with another amazing club. leave a comment and congratule L !! I'll pass them along!

Thank you, thank you. I'm speechless!

Wait, no I'm not! I'm a Toastmaster! But I'll spare you.

I was completely surprised to receive the Spark Plug award. I'd have dressed nicer had I known! :) Thanks, bronx, for your kind words.

I told my boss about this and showed her the trophy. She said we should make it our department mascot. I think I'll call him Sparky.

Lanio, a resounding HUZZAH!!! It is always a pleasure to be recognized by your peers. I am sure you earned even more than anyone else knows. Thirty + years ago I also belonged to Toastmasters and enjoyed every minute of it. Later, I was a charter member of a local Optimist club and served in many positions. It is very rewarding to be of service to the community.

I know my Toastmaster experience has made me a much better instructor. The mere thought of the opportunity to give a presentation of any kind is exhilarating. It is beyond me why people are so petrified to give a public presentation. That is part of the staff of life. So, put on that hard hat and go get them.

-b, thanks for bringing this momentous achievement to our attention. We all need to thank her for her zeal, and accomplishments.

Again, a loud and resounding HUZZAH!!!
